Getting Started with Rhinestones

Hey there, fellow creators! Are you looking to add some sparkle and shine to your dance costume? Rhinestones are a great way to do just that! Here are some tips on how to attach rhinestones to your dance costume.

First things first, you'll need to gather your supplies. You'll need rhinestones, fabric glue, a toothpick or a Gem Pen, and a steady hand. You can find rhinestones in our online store. Make sure to choose the right size and color for your costume. We've made this easy for you with our brand new Starter Kit.

Next, plan out where you want to place your rhinestones. You can create a pattern or scatter them randomly. Use a fabric marker or chalk to mark the spots where you want to place your rhinestones.

Now it's time to attach the rhinestones. Squeeze a small amount of fabric glue onto a piece of cardboard or paper plate. Use a toothpick or small brush to apply a small dot of glue directly on the fabric. Be careful not to use too much glue, as it can seep through the fabric and create a mess. We always recommend using E6000 Fabrifuse, which can be easily and precisely squeezed straight from the bottle.

Press each rhinestone onto the glue dot, using your fingers or a Gem Pen to gently press it down. Hold it in place for a few seconds to ensure it sticks. Continue attaching rhinestones until you've completed your design.

Once you've attached all of your rhinestones, let the glue dry completely. This can take anywhere from a few hours to overnight, depending on the type of glue you used. Once the glue is dry, your dance costume will be ready to shine on stage!

In conclusion, attaching rhinestones to your dance costume is a fun and easy way to add some extra sparkle. Just remember to plan out your design, use a steady hand, and let the glue dry completely. Get started today with our ready to go Starter Kit!  Happy Gemming!
